Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year this year was exceptionally boring for me. The only thing I looked forward to was the annual TU reunion at Ben's House.

Its seems as we grow older, the hype for Chinese New Year fades significantly to the point that I just want to get it over and done with quickly.

So I spent my first day of CNY just chilling at home waiting for something to happen, but nothing happened. Fortunately Petrine's always there for me and we went out to town. Surprisingly ION was pretty happening.

I would really like to give a shoutout to 365days2play.com for having the best CNY post ever. You can read their post here. http://365days2play.com/2013/02/09/what-is-open-during-chinese-new-year-2013/
Totally helped lost souls like me find out where to go during CNY. If I hadn't chance upon this blog, I would probably be spending my CNY at home gorging on pineapple tarts.

The second day of CNY was slightly more interesting for me, it's a family tradition to go to one of the grand uncle's house and collected a decent amount of ang paos considering it's the only day that I'll go house visiting.

That pretty much sums up my entire CNY break which was gone in the blink of an eye. If CNY was a 15-day holiday, maybe it would be less boring.

Barbeque

I had a super random BBQ gathering with my CSCC friends and it was just plain awesomeness. I have always loved BBQ gatherings cause they are always filled with food, fun and laughter. Okay, I admit a big part of me going to BBQs is always the food. Who doesn't like BBQ food right? Just imagine all the satays, chicken wings, otah-otahs, hotdogs just lepak-ing on the wire mesh waiting for you to eat them. I'm almost salivating again even though I'm pretty full right now.

I had my BBQ at East Coast Park today and damn I must say it's really inconvenient. There wasn't even a toilet or washing point at least 100m away from my BBQ pit. Oh yes, by the way I was at C17. If you guys ever have a BBQ, try not to book any pits near that range. With all that renovating going on at ECP and that old Macdonald's being demolished, ECP just isn't that great anymore.

I used to remember going to ECP just to slack at the Macdonald's and chill by the seaside. Now that Macdonald's gone, I don't really go to ECP anymore.

The best BBQ pits at ECP in my opinion are pits 28-32. There's like a toilet really near there and Carpark C4 is just nearby. So if you are planning a BBQ at ECP, go for pits 28-32. Everything is super convenient there and it's probably the most bustling part of ECP.

Here's all the guys working hard to get the fire going.

Shredded crab meat in cheese is like one of the best BBQ food ever. Cheese can be accompanied with almost anything, you can have cheese enoki mushrooms, cheese hotdogs, cheese crab meat, cheese everything. and get the smoky bbq cheese flavour from SCS. It looks something like this. I swear this is the best cheese slice to go with all your bbq food. Totally satisfies your taste buds.

I am an iphonegrapher so usually I'll take all my pictures with my iPhone because its so handy and awesome, I never bring my camera out anymore. But when you take pictures at night, the flash usually ruins it and makes it super washed out. Tonight, we came up with this super brilliant idea to have multiple flashlights from individual phones and TADAH, an awesome picture was taken. Pretty nice right? No need to worry about degrading camera flashes anymore.
