Korea Trip Oct 2014 Part 4 (Daegu Suseong Lake)

On our 3rd day, we went to Suseong Lake. It's not exactly a tourist attraction but a lot of couples go there for dating. Here's a picture of a Japanese mixed Korean restaurant whereI used my sub standard Korean and managed to order something to eat.

Something Petrine and I noticed in Korea is that all the ahjumas have the same hairstyle. Just look at all the ahjumas in the bus sporting the same short permed hair. We came to this conclusion that the older you are, the more permed your hair will be in Korea.

After travelling for a while, we finally reached Suseong Lake. It's definitely a picture-worthy place to visit and the view there is extraordinary. Especially with the autumn leaves, the place will add much memorable photos to your collection.

Suseong Lake's not only picturesque, there is also a kid's theme park and several carnival booths. We wanted to try and win some prize but it was pretty hard to communicate with the stall owner and understand the rules.

So I decided to have a hand at the baseball cages. It's about 500 won for 15 balls and I swear it's really fun just swinging at the balls. Even though I missed most of them, I had so much fun that I went for the second round. Apparently these baseball cages are pretty popular in Korea so you'll get to see some random baseball cages on the streets.

Do check out Suseong Lake if you're going to Daegu because this place has one of the most beautiful views you can ever find.

How to go to Suseong Lake:
  1. Take the subway to Banwoldang Station.
  2. Exit via exit 1 and proceed to bus stop directly in front of the exit.
  3. Take bus 401 to Suseongmot (17 stops), it's one stop after Suseongmot Junction.
  4. Alight and proceed along traffic flow.
  5. Suseong Lake is on your left.

One of the biggest regrets of my Korea trip was not being able to fully experience the Colourful Daegu festival. They actually closed the entire street just for this festival so it's probably some huge ass festival. Nevertheless, we were really attracted to the chalk doodles on the road.

Here are some pictures of us doodling as well.

There were also some street performances on the road itself and it was pretty cool because you'll never see such a big crowd supporting a street act in Singapore.
